This policy explains what personal information BidWinBuild ("BidWinBuild," "we," "us") collects through bidwinbuild.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. BidWinBuild is based in Altamonte Springs, Florida, and sells Excel-based estimating and project tools to commercial contractors.
1. Information we collect
- Free calculator signup. When you request the free Margin vs. Markup Calculator, we collect your email address. The form is provided by MailerLite.
- Purchases. Products are sold through Gumroad. Gumroad handles checkout and payment and shares order details with us, such as your name, email address, and what you bought. We never see or store your full payment card number. Gumroad's use of your information is described in its own privacy policy.
- Email to us. If you email us, for example to request a quote, we receive your email address and whatever you tell us.
- Website usage data. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people use the site. It collects things like pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, how you arrived, and an identifier stored in cookies.
- Technical data. Our host, Netlify, receives your IP address and browser details when pages load. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, so Google also receives your IP address.
The calculator. The numbers you type into the Margin vs. Markup Calculator are processed in your browser. They are not sent to us.
2. How we use it
- To send you the calculator and the emails you signed up for, such as tips and product news.
- To deliver your purchases, provide support, and respond to your questions.
- To measure and improve the website and our products.
- To keep the site secure and comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.
3. Who we share it with
- MailerLite (email list and signup forms).
- Gumroad (checkout, payments, and file delivery).
- Google (Analytics and Fonts).
- Netlify (website hosting).
- Authorities or others, if required by law or to protect our rights and the safety of others.
These providers process information on our behalf or under their own policies, and we do not allow them to use it for their own marketing to you through us.
4. Cookies and analytics
Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to recognize your browser and measure site usage. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics (available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). Blocking cookies will not stop you from using the site. We do not respond to "Do Not Track" signals because our analytics do not currently distinguish them. We do not run advertising cookies of our own.
5. Email choices
Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe at any time with one click. You can also email us and ask to be removed. We will honor opt-out requests promptly. We may still send transactional messages about something you bought or asked for.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires. Email list details stay until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Order records are kept as needed for accounting, tax, and support. Google Analytics data is retained according to our analytics settings.
7. Your choices and rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email us at the address below and we will respond within a reasonable time. California residents have specific rights under California privacy law, including the right to know, correct, and delete personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
8. Children
Our site and products are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We use reputable providers and HTTPS to protect information in transit. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Links to other sites
Our site links to other sites, including Gumroad. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and this policy does not cover them.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the effective date above.
